Central and Peninsular Plateau
‘Plateau’ means high plains or table land, it is the area between Western and Eastern Ghats of India. Thus form a triangular shape with its base coinciding with the edge of the great plain of North India. Mainly covers the central parts of the country, spread across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha and parts of West Bengal.Habitat is dominated with thorn scrub forests, moist and dry deciduous forests.
