Magical Mangroves and Gangetic plains

Gallery reflects the upper coastal parts, the mangrove forest and the gangetic plains. One of the unique and important habitat on earth, mangrove is a shrub or small tree that grows in coastal brackish water. India is having major mangrove forest in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and the Gulf of Kutch in Gujarat (Species from Andaman and Nicobar are given in Mysterious Island gallery). Gangetic plains start from the foothills of Himalaya in north to the Bramhaputra valley in east. This is a habitat of Great Plains and Tarai grass land.
